Originally launched in 2004, this vitola was available for eight years before an early retirement. Despite its brief run, it left a lasting impression on cigar enthusiasts who appreciated its unique qualities.
In 2024, to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Trinidad brand, Habanos S.A. brought the vitola back during the three-day Habanos World Days festival in London. The cigars come in elegant luxury boîte nature boxes of three, each adorned with three bands: the classic Trinidad band, a special 55th-anniversary commemorative band, and a foot band embossed with the iconic “T” motif.
The Robusto Extra is a medium-bodied cigar that retains the classic, aromatic charm of the original. Measuring 6 1/8” (155 mm) with a 50 ring gauge—similar to a Doble—it features the signature Trinidad pigtail cap and is hand-rolled using select leaves from the renowned Vuelta Abajo region.
