It all started with the Master Blender Henke Kelner’s dream to turn the Yamasa region into a successful tobacco-growing field. His experts relentlessly nurtured and cultivated the soil. Despite the stubborn efforts of the soil, which was reluctant to change, the hard work paid off. Each tobacco plant is hand fed nitrate and calcium. The new cigar does not feature Yamasa tobacco alone, however. The blend features many tobacco from across the Dominican as well as Nicaragua.

Measuring 5 inches with a 50-ring gauge, this Robusto vitola delivers a perfectly balanced and intense smoke, highlighting Davidoff’s relentless pursuit of excellence. The Yamasa line is named after the rich, red soil of the Yamasa region in the Dominican Republic, where Davidoff pioneered the cultivation of premium tobacco after two decades of experimentation.

The Yamasa Habano wrapper is striking, with a deep, oily, and slightly textured appearance, signaling the cigar’s full-bodied nature. Beneath, a San Vicente binder from the Dominican Republic ensures even combustion and structural integrity, while the filler blend combines Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, adding layers of depth and complexity.
